»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Community College President Ellen Kennedy today participated in the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County Clean Air Challenge.
The Clean Air Challenge is an opportunity for Massachusetts residents to explore commuting options, learn about alternative transportation, save money, and improve air quality. Leading up to the statewide event, the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County Regional Coordinating Council is hosting the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County Clean Air Challenge in recognition of the transportation options available in »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County.
As part of the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County Clean Air Challenge, President Kennedy rode a BRTA bus between »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ’s Main Campus and the Intermodal Transportation Center in downtown Pittsfield. The BRTA is a popular source of transportation for »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ students.
"I learned so much today. I learned that students can use Financial Aid to purchase their Charlie Cards. I also heard about how dependent they (students) are and appreciative they are for the BRTA and I feel good about reducing my carbon footprint," said President Kennedy.
The »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County Clean Air Challenge is an initiative of the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ County Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), a group of agencies, transportation providers, and advocates working together to increase mobility and access across the County.
