Community Fest

»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Community College (»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ), the first community college in the Commonwealth, is celebrating its 65th anniversary as the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ's community college — where access to higher education for all is our priority. To celebrate, »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ is hosting Community Fest on campus and everyone is invited!

Activities

Campus Tours

In just the past ten years or so, the campus has gone through so many changes: from new academic buildings and programs to an accessible quad and new One Stop Enrollment Center.

This celebration is the culmination of years of positive changes on campus and in the community.

During Community Fest, you'll have an opportunity to:

  • Take a guided tour of the newly reimagined »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ campus;
  • Talk with student and alumni artists in the new Koussevitzky Arts Gallery;
  • Record yourself in the new Recording Studio; and
  • Take a walk down memory lane with an archival display from the new »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Library.

Community college is free in the Commonwealth for Massachusetts residents without a bachelor's degree, and »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ has seen a surge of new students enroll and take advantage of this incredible opportunity.

Education

  • Educational opportunities

    The College's high-quality faculty and some experts in their fields will lead activities, including:

    • Educational offerings in the new nursing SIM or A&P lab;
    • Hands-on science experiments in the new »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Science Commons;
    • Kid-friendly educational opportunities in the new Early Childhood Education lab;

Family Fun

  • Kids and families
    • Build a Bear workshops where the first 200 children can build a »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Falcon Mascot stuffed animal for free
    • Face painting, arts and crafts
    • Touch a Truck
    • Community bake off

Food and Drinks

  • Food, beer and wine

    Local food trucks will be on site to enjoy as well, and folks can sample their delicious menus for a price, including:

    • BB's Hot Spot
    • BrewBerry

    For adults looking to sample the best breweries and wine makers in the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵs, we'll have the following vendors providing their local drinks for a cost:
