Welcome to Paterson Field House, a Pittsfield gym, open to »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Community College (»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ) students, employees and the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ community.

Field House Hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Paterson Recreation's mission is to enrich the experience of students at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ through safe and always-improving facilities and programs. Serving and engaging students, faculty, staff, and the greater »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ community, Paterson Recreation provides opportunities to learn and reinforce healthy behaviors, build relationships, develop leadership skills, and pursue goals.

Paterson Field House maintains a fitness center, basketball court, turf field, two grass soccer fields, three adult outdoor tennis courts, two youth tennis courts, and an outdoor pool that is open during the summer. Day lockers are available for all users.

    • Students, Faculty, and Staff must bring their »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ ID for access 
  • Day Pass: $7
  • Age Policy:
    • Children 11 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.
    • Children between 12-15 must have an adult in the Paterson Recreation Complex.
    • Children under 16 cannot use the Paterson Fitness Center (weights or cardio machines)

Rentals and Reservations

All inquiries regarding rental of any of the Paterson Recreation Complex spaces should complete this form:

After completing the form a member of the Paterson Recreation team will reach out to you within one business day.

All facilities are open to the public during normal Paterson operating hours when their use does not interfere with College activities.

  • Adventure Program

    »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Adventure Program

    Paterson's Adventure Program provides programs, events and equipment to get Paterson Recreation users into the outdoors. Unless noted all Adventure programs are free and open to any »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ students, faculty, staff, Paterson users, and »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Alumni and their families. If events fill priority will always go first to »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ students. Also if any event requires equipment that you don't have reach out and we may be able to provide it.

    Paterson's Fitness Program provides programs and events to get our members together and active! Unless noted all fitness programs are free and open to all Paterson members including »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ students, faculty, staff, community members, and »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Alumni.

      Jumpstart your fitness journey with our 4-Week Introduction to Fitness Program! A comprehensive mix of cardio, strength training, and core exercises, tailored for all fitness levels and learn how to create and personalize your own training program!

    Open Recreation

    Open Recreation hours are open for drop-in play for any Paterson members or guests.  If no one shows up for drop-in play the court may be used for other purposes, but if anyone comes in hoping to play that sport during Open Recreation hours that sport will have priority on the court.

  • SAIL

    SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life)

    SAIL is a 12-week class offered twice a week.  It is an evidence-based program that focuses on balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance for people 65 and older.  All classes can be completed standing or sitting and can be modified to promote individual fitness needs.  Classes are taught be licensed Physical Therapists or Physical Therapist Assistants who have been certified in SAIL.

    For the Fall 2024 session, the SAIL program is free for Paterson members, or a $30 fee can be paid.  To join the interest list please .

  • Tennis Complex

    The Paul E. Raverta Tennis Complex is open from dawn until dusk each day.

    »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Mountain Pickleball has two of the courts reserved 9 am-Noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

    In recognition of his leadership and love of the game, the tennis facilities at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ were dedicated in honor of the college's 6th president, Dr. Paul E. Raverta. The complex boasts three standard adult courts and two "10 and Under" courts for children. Two of the adult tennis courts are lined for pickleball as well.

    The Paul E. Raverta Tennis Complex, which is open to the public, was made possible by the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Bank Foundation, »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Bank Foundation — Legacy Region, Petricca Industries, USTA Western Mass, USTA New England, and USTA National.

Health/Fitness Requirement for Students

In these extraordinary times, we have made the difficult decision to waive Forum and the Heath Fitness requirements for students graduating through spring 2023.
