On April 11, 2020, »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Community College (»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ) signed and returned to the U.S. Department of Education a Certification and Agreement that »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ has used, and intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
Total amount of funds that »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students: $526,072 Total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act: $234,925 (as of May 18, 2020) Estimated total number of students at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act: 765 (as of May 18, 2020) Total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act: 544 (as of May 18, 2020) Selection criteria used by »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act:
CARES Emergency (Technology) Grants ($425 each):
Half of »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ's CARES student aid allocation ($263,036) has been reserved for Emergency Grants of $425 each for estimated average costs associated with technology needed to convert to distance learning and based on the following student eligibility criteria:- Have a completed 2019 – 2020 FAFSA with an Expected Family Contribution less than or equal to 6692 (»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ's 2019-2020 Cost of Attendance for a full year of full-time study); and
- be making Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid; and
- be enrolled in at least one spring 2020 course that was ground-based prior to March 13, 2020, and subsequently converted to online due to coronavirus; or,
- be a continuing student registered for at least one ground course that was converted to fully online in summer 2020 Sessions I and II.

The other half of CARES student aid is being reserved for students who have not previously applied for financial aid and/or those seeking additional emergency funds to help cover a range of coronavirus-related expenses such as food, housing, health care, and child care. :() -
