Audrey Bartzsch
Audrey (any pronouns) is in their third year of the Business Administration program here at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ. They took the Advanced Composition and Tutor Training course in the spring of 2022 and have been working in the Writing Center for two semesters. Outside of school and work, Audrey enjoys pursuing creative projects like fiber arts, including sewing her own clothes and knitting, as well as drawing, reading, music, and creative writing.
Mercedes Bell
Mercedes (she/her) is beginning her third year here at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Community College. Having completed her prerequisites, she's planning on exploring electives that relate to her passion for history, psychology, and literature this school year before hoping to enter the ADN program in the fall of 2024. She waited a decade before getting her GED, choosing a new path, and going back to school, so she has a great appreciation for the balancing act most of her fellow students must manage in pursuit of their own goals. She is excited to be able to play an active part in supporting her fellow students to the best of her abilities in her new role as a member of the Writing Center team this fall.
Leo Honbarger
Leo (he/him) has been working in writing centers since 2022. He has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee, where he worked as an award-winning writing tutor before joining »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ. His poetry has appeared in Glass Mountain Review. He is excited to return to the Writing Center as a consultant and liaison. When he is not supporting student writing, you can find him crocheting and enjoying all the nature that the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵs have to offer.
G Kelley
G Kelley (they/them) is a community writing center consultant. They graduated from »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ in 2020 with an Associates in Theatre Arts, and were a tutor in the writing center as a student. One of their favourite things about working in the writing center, especially at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ, is working with students of all ages and levels of writing. They are passionate about storytelling, inclusion, and accessibility.
Nell McCabe
Nell teaches composition, literature, and creative writing at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Community College. An alum of »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ, she holds a master’s degree in Creative Writing-Fiction from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In 2015, she co-founded the »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Writing Center along with her colleague Matthew Muller and is delighted to be back keeping things afloat while Writing Center Coordinator, Liesl Schwabe, is away during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Liesl Schwabe
Liesl (she/her) joined »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ last year as the Coordinator of Writing Across the Curriculum. She previously directed the Writing Program at Yeshiva College and served as a Fulbright-Nehru Scholar in Kolkata, India. Liesl's essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Review of Books and other publications and anthologies. She loves how the Writing Center creates energy, fosters community, and deepens the exchange of ideas, on campus and beyond.
Mackenzie Soto
Mackenzie (she/they) is 24 years old and a recent graduate of »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ. She has worked in the Writing Center for about four years. Her hobbies include writing, reading, crafting and cooking.
Destiny Tetlow
"My name is Destiny and it is my first year tutoring at the Writing Center. I’m in my second year at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ and am pursuing a degree in Music Education. Outside of studying and work I play in a band and spend most of my time reading or painting. I look forward to working at the Writing Center!"
